The Nordhavn 47 full displacement cruiser has been designed to fill the natural gap between our popular little ship, the Nordhavn 40, and our more luxurious Nordhavn 50. Utilizing many of the proven design and construction highlights of our newest models, the Nordhavn 47 promises to be one of our finest vessels ever. Hull No. 1 arrived in Dana Point in the summer, 2002, and by the beginning of 2003, more than 20 have been sold.
Inspired by the success of the Nordhavn 40 and its celebrated Around The World Voyage, the 47 reflects the latest thinking at P.A.E. The 47 has a range of over 3,000 nautical miles and cruises efficiently at between 8 and 9 knots. This rugged ship displaces 72,000 lbs and will carry enough stores, water and fuel for weeks of self-sufficient cruising.
Two interior layouts have been designed, one with three staterooms, the other with two staterooms plus an owner's "den." Two heads are standard. The pilothouse also provides a pilot berth above the settee, which is the ideal place for the off-watch crew.
The main saloon features a dinette table that seats 4 to 5, plus an L-shaped settee for relaxing. The galley features double sinks, a 4-burner range, microwave and an under-the-counter refrigerator. There is plenty of room throughout the vessel to add a large freezer and washer/dryer.
As with all Nordhavn full displacement models, the new 47 is built to cross oceans. Heavily constructed without undue concern for weight, she provides a comfortable, stable platform at sea. The systems and equipment have been carefully selected and properly installed to assure years of trouble-free, dependable service.
If you want to do more than dream about going around the world or crossing an ocean, be sure to consider this new model from P.A.E. It has the power to take you anywhere.
